AI agent

In one sentence: An AI agent is an AI tool that can take actions for you, such as using apps or websites, and not only answer questions.

Why it matters: Agents can plan, make decisions and act on your behalf, and can be given wider access than a chatbot. It is safest to give an agent only the minimum access it needs. Access is set through permissions, and too much access can turn one mistake into a bigger problem.

One thing to do: Before you let an AI tool act for you, read which permissions it asks for. Allow only what it needs.
