In one sentence: Cyberbullying is bullying that happens on phones, computers or tablets, such as in texts, social media or games.
Why it matters: StopBullying.gov (US) says to keep evidence, not to reply or forward messages, and to block the person. Threats of violence, and sexually explicit messages or photos, are crimes in many places and should be reported to the police. In the UK, children can call Childline free on 0800 1111.
One thing to do: Take screenshots of messages that show names and dates, but never of a sexually explicit image of someone under 18. Do not copy or forward it. Tell a trusted adult. If it shows you, it is not your fault. Report it to the police, the CyberTipline (US) or the Internet Watch Foundation (UK). Then block the person and report them in the app.
