Vishing

In one sentence: Vishing is phishing by phone: a caller tries to trick you into sharing personal information.

Why it matters: CISA says caller ID can be faked, so a call can look like it comes from a trusted number. Callers may say they are from a bank, a tech company or a government office. Do not use a number the caller gives you.

One thing to do: If a caller asks for personal details or a code, hang up and call the organization using a number you trust, such as the one on your statement, your card or its official app.
